The groundwork for MARIE DEAN Hair & Body Care began five years ago when I transitioned from permed/relaxed hair to natural hair. My hair was fragile and thinning from years of relaxing. I attempted to go natural in 1998 but was unsuccessful due to the lack of resources available and not knowing how to better care for my hair. I made another effort in February 2004 with the help of a hair stylist who was knowledgeable about natural hair care. I was completely natural in November 2005.
To maintain my medium thick kinky hair, I used numerous hair products, some worked and most didn't. It was then that I decided to experiment with various ingredients to create products that suited my hair texture. And so the journey began of blending wholesome and nourishing ingredients to create luscious hair products. I enjoyed creating hair products so much that I eventually began making body and bath products.
I was inspired to launch my hair and body care business after a few years of gifting my products to family and friends who loved the benefits and final results.
So, here I am sharing my creations with you.
