Are all your products natural? TOP

We make every effort to use the most natural ingredients possible.  Most of our products are natural.  There are some hair and skin products that contain ingredients which aren’t natural such as preservatives.  We use preservatives (paraben-free) to provide protection against microbial growth bacteria and yeast.  Preservatives allow products to remain fresh during the long span between the time of making a product and the time the customer finishes using it.  We use the lowest percentage possible of a safe, paraben-free preservative.  
 
In addition, some of the emollients and thickeners we use aren’t fully natural but are derived from vegetable oils.  We also use silicones and lanolin in some of our hair and skin products.  Many of our customers love the benefits of silicones and lanolin.
 
Customers who use our lanolin base hair and skin products rave about the great results.   Customers have experienced hair growth while using our lanolin hair products.
 
However, customers who do not use silicones or lanolin, you will recognize products that contain them because they will be noted or identified by an “II”.   We’ve also created hair and skin  products specifically for customers who are butter-sensitive, oil-sensitive and protein-sensitive.  These products are documented as OILESS, BUTTERLESS or PROLESS.  Please see our Product Abbreviation List below to find which products will work best for you.

PRODUCT ABBREVIATION LIST:
 
LANOLIN/LANOLIN OIL – The product contains lanolin and/or lanolin oil.
 
II – The product contains silicones.
 
PLUS
– Butters or Oils have been added to the ingredients.
 
OILESS – The product does not contain oils; perfect for individuals who are oil-sensitive.
 
BUTTERLESS – The product does not contain butters; perfect for individuals who are butter-sensitive.
 
PROLESS – The product does not contain proteins; perfect for individuals who are protein-sensitive.
 
All of MARIE DEAN Hair & Body Care products are human tested.  There is no mineral oil, petrolatum or parabens in any of our products.

Do you use hair/skin cream bases with additives for your products? TOP

No, we do not use any hair/skin cream bases for our products.  All of our hair and skin products are handmade by MARIE DEAN Hair & Body Care.

Do you use hair typing systems? TOP

Hair typing systems are confusing and difficult to interpret. We don't use them.  Our hair products have been used by men and women with straight, curly, wavy, kinky, coily, loc'd and chemically treated hair. The best course you can take is to try our sample packs. Our sample packs are a great way to experiment with our products to see how they will work best for your hair.

Do you have sample sizes? TOP

We have released a Moisturizer/Styling Cream sample pack. This is a great way to experiment with our products to see how they will work best for your hair.

Can your body and hair butters melt and/or settle during shipping? TOP

Yes, body butters and hair butters purchased during hot weather may melt during shipping. If melting occurs, simply place the body butter or hair butter in a cool place or the refrigerator until it becomes firm.

Body and hair butters can also settle during shipping. This will not affect the quality of the product. Body and hair butters cannot be refunded or exchanged if they melt or settle during shipping.

I am lanolin-sensitive, silicone-sensitive, butter-sensitive, oil-sensitive or protein-sensitive -- How will I know which products contain these ingredients? TOP

Customers who do not use silicones or lanolin, you will recognize the products that contain them because they will be noted or identified by an II.   We've created hair and skin products specifically for customers who are butter-sensitive, oil-sensitive and protein-sensitive.  These products are documented as OILESS, BUTTERLESS or PROLESS.  Please view our Product Abbreviation List below to find which products will work best for you.

My body/hair product turned brown? TOP

Some fragrance oils contain vanillin or ethyl vanillin (vanilla extract) and therefore it can cause products to turn pale yellow, light tan or brown.  

How do you make sure that my payments are secure? TOP

We do not store any payment-related information on our website.  Instead, we have partnered with PayPal to process all payments.  PayPal provides "bank-level" security on their servers, has an excellent security track record, and some of the industry's best security experts on staff.  PayPal's services are being used and trusted by more than 17 million people worldwide.

Why did my hair/body product arrive half-full? TOP

Be assured that we fill your jars and bottles to the top!  Our jars and bottles are filled by volume, and the contents may settle during shipping and handling due to the whipped texture of the product.  This will not affect product quality.

What does it mean when you fill your hair and body jars by volume? TOP

Can I add another product to my order once it has been submitted? TOP

Unfortunately, we are unable to make any changes to your order once it has been submitted. To avoid delay in your order processing, please confirm the contents of your cart before you complete your order.

Can I change my shipping address once my ordered has been placed? TOP

What are your payment options? TOP

We take cashier's checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express cards.

Do you accept mail orders? TOP

Yes, we do.  You can add products to the shopping cart and once you get to the payment page, print it out without paying. Send the printout with payment to: MARIE DEAN Hair & Body Care, P.O. Box 641655, Los Angeles, CA 90064.  Please remember to include the $7.95 shipping fee.  If you are a California resident, please also add  $9.75 for sales tax.

 
Cashier's checks and money orders are accepted, however, your order will not be shipped until your cashier's check or money order clears our bank.  MARIE DEAN Hair & Body Care does not accept personal checks.

NOTE:  Please review our shipping policies on the Policies page for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, P.O. Boxes and Military addresses.

How quickly will my order be delivered? TOP

Our products are not in stock at the time of purchase.  All of our products are handmade to order to provide you with the best quality possible.  Please allow us 5 business days to create and prepare your order.  Business days do not include weekends.  Allow an additional 3-5 business days to ship your order. We ship orders via FedEx. Once your order has been packed and ready to be shipped, you will be sent a FedEx shipment confirmation.

During holidays, we could take up to 7-10 days to ship your orders out. So, please plan ahead.

At this time, we're pretty excited to be able to offer such a great flat shipping rate of $7.95 to our customers. Our flat shipping rate applies only to orders within the continental United States. This offer is not valid for shipments to P.O. Boxes and APO/FPO addresses, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and International Shipping.

Yes, we do.  P.O. Boxes or Military Addresses orders must be placed via email with our Customer Service Department. Please email us at customerservice@mariedeanonline.com prior to placing an order for shipping and handling arrangements. We use USPS to ship to P.O. Boxes and Military addresses. USPS averages about 3-5 business days.
